Welcome back to yet another blog post featuring a Tonic Polish - this time it's a delicate winter beauty called Luminescent, with winter themed stamping.
I seem to have developed an addiction to nail polish! I'm constantly talking about polish and browsing swatches and reviews. So I decided to get a blog for posting my own attempts at nail art and designs, and to give my hubby a break from having to listen to me blab all the time :) Of course, nail polish isn't ALL I'm interested in, so I think other topics and posts will creep up in here as well!

Swatch & Art: Tonic Polish - Lunar Lust
Welcome back to yet another blog post! It's been a while since I wrote anything here, but I've posted a few things on Instagram lately - just didn't have the energy to blog. I got a snow day today so I was able to stay home and play with some polishes and have this beauty to share today!
This shifts into so many colors that I don't think I'm able to capture them all, even with a dozen pictures!

HPB Presents: Halloween
Welcome back to another post! As there's only a few days left till Halloween, I've been trying to push myself for more festive nails but this week kind of failed. I kept the same mani on most of the week and went back and forth between what to do next - Halloween, fall, or swatch - and so here we are.

#THELACQUERRING: Lace
Welcome back for the second The Lacquer Ring prompt for September - lace! I thought it would be pretty easy, given how many stamping plates I have with lace imagery, but part of the problem was narrowing down what I wanted to use!

Swatch & Art: Tonic Polish - Windy City

Stamping Saturday: It's Good to be Queen
Hello and welcome to another Stamping Saturday post! Sorry the blog has been quiet this week - I managed to get sick and am just coming back to life now. This mani got a bit grown out by the time I got to taking pictures, but I couldn't bear to just take it off without documenting it, so here it is!

Stamping Saturday: Summer Loving
Welcome back for another Stamping Saturday! It feels like I just posted last week's mani and it's time for a new one...maybe it's because I was a few days late, haha

#THELACQUERRING: TARDIS BLUE
Welcome back for another The Lacquer Ring post - the color prompt is Tardis Blue! I'm just going to say it upfront...this is not one of my fandoms (it may be in the future!) so I was a bit stumped this time around...and don't think I've quite hit the mark.
I've kept it simple with just an accent nail and just drooled over this blue polish I acquired.Thursday, August 11, 2016
Swatch & Art: Nvr Enuff Polish - Faery
It seems like it's either feast or famine on the blog content...this week I've been doing a lot of manis and am trying to fit in more time for writing actual posts. My nails are rarely naked, but posting continuously has been challenging.
Please say this looks like watermelon...because that's what I was trying to aim for.

#THELACQUERRING: Chevrons
Hello and welcome to today's post! The second prompt for July in The Lacquer Ring was chevrons and I do realize this is week one of August already but I did my chevrons and then procrastinated doing the actual typing. And then when I was ready to blog, my computer decided it didn't want to cooperate with me. For a moment there I thought I might lose everything and there's so many manis I have not shared yet!! Ack, that was a good reminder to back up and actually post more often ;D

#THELACQUERRING: PURPLE
Hello and welcome to The Lacquer Ring's first prompt for July - purple!! Purple is one of my favorite colors, so I'll jump right in and show the latest addition to my collection. Bonus - there are multiple nail art looks with this one, I got carried away!
If the bottle and label are not familiar - it's because this is a pretty new brand. Tonic Polish launched just at the end of June on Etsy (shop here) It's pretty exciting to be able to catch a brand right as it's launching, and observe the behind the scenes bits. When the maker, Lindsey, started showing prototypes for the debut collection, this sparkly purple is the one that caught my eye right away.
" is a blue-purple base with strong red shimmer and silver holo micro glitters."
Formula was on the thicker side and I used 2 coats for complete opacity. Top coat is recommended to bring back the shine.
It was hard to capture it in the sun, but it sparkled so much!! While in the car with my husband, I kept sliding my hand over to his side to make the nails catch the sun and make sure he sees how pretty they are, haha.
I got too excited about this gorgeous purple and quickly started practicing drag marbling with it and a neon green China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard. I love the color combination!
This one was totally an accident, I tried so hard to replicate it for all the nails and just couldn't do it...I need more practice, but with basic polish. I ended up using quite a bit of Huckleberry Sparkle in my attempts, and nearly got a heart attack when I saw the huge fill line appear. I almost rushed over to buy a backup bottle but stopped myself - it's kind of nice to realize I like a polish so much to put it through so much use. Great job, Tonic Polish!
For the last art, I made flower decals. I'm not too thrilled with how they turned out, but it happens!
Whew. that was a lot for purple! Next week's prompt is chevrons, I'll try to be on time for Thursday's post!
