Blogging day after day is taxing, since that's not my normal schedule, but I've enjoyed the manicures I made quite a lot. Welcome back for another The Lacquer Ring post - the color prompt is Tardis Blue! I'm just going to say it upfront...this is not one of my fandoms (it may be in the future!) so I was a bit stumped this time around...and don't think I've quite hit the mark.

I've kept it simple with just an accent nail and just drooled over this blue polish I acquired.

Welcome to Stamping Saturday! I picked a neon color to wear this week and enjoyed it so much! I also got some new stamping plates in the mail and couldn't wait to use the watermelon images.

#THELACQUERRING: PURPLE

Hello and welcome to The Lacquer Ring's first prompt for July - purple!! Purple is one of my favorite colors, so I'll jump right in and show the latest addition to my collection. Bonus - there are multiple nail art looks with this one, I got carried away!

If the bottle and label are not familiar - it's because this is a pretty new brand. Tonic Polish launched just at the end of June on Etsy (shop here) It's pretty exciting to be able to catch a brand right as it's launching, and observe the behind the scenes bits. When the maker, Lindsey, started showing prototypes for the debut collection, this sparkly purple is the one that caught my eye right away.

" is a blue-purple base with strong red shimmer and silver holo micro glitters."









Formula was on the thicker side and I used 2 coats for complete opacity. Top coat is recommended to bring back the shine.



It was hard to capture it in the sun, but it sparkled so much!! While in the car with my husband, I kept sliding my hand over to his side to make the nails catch the sun and make sure he sees how pretty they are, haha.





I got too excited about this gorgeous purple and quickly started practicing drag marbling with it and a neon green China Glaze I'm With The Lifeguard. I love the color combination!



This one was totally an accident, I tried so hard to replicate it for all the nails and just couldn't do it...I need more practice, but with basic polish. I ended up using quite a bit of Huckleberry Sparkle in my attempts, and nearly got a heart attack when I saw the huge fill line appear. I almost rushed over to buy a backup bottle but stopped myself - it's kind of nice to realize I like a polish so much to put it through so much use. Great job, Tonic Polish!



For the last art, I made flower decals. I'm not too thrilled with how they turned out, but it happens!



Whew. that was a lot for purple! Next week's prompt is chevrons, I'll try to be on time for Thursday's post!

Drip Marble - no water needed!

Hello and welcome! In my last post I mentioned that I learned about a new nail art technique and would be trying it. It's called drip marble - the results are gorgeous marbled designs without any water! This is what I've been hoping to achieve but wasn't brave enough to try with watermarble.

I think it's best to learn straight from the source, and in this case it's Colette of My Simple Little Pleasures. Check out her video on the process here!

Stamping Saturday: Summer Flowers

It's Saturday and I have another stamped mani to show off today. I know it's my most used nail art technique but it's so simple and there are so many beautiful designs!I brought some plates and polish to work yesterday and did a little demo on stamping...I wonder if my coworkers will be disenchanted by my nails now that they know how easy it is!
