The Digit-al Dozen Presents - Recreation: Day 1

Welcome to another Digit-al Dozen week! Our theme for September is "Recreating Your First Blog Posts" and I will admit, I was mentally cringing just thinking about opening up those first posts to see what I've done. But I summoned my courage and dug around for the polishes and stamping plates to get the job done!

So I started blogging in January 2014. Maybe it was a New Year's resolution type thing, I'm not sure now. But even in the very first post, I've got a stamped design! Stamping has always been my favorite, ever since I got my first little Konad kit at the mall kiosk so many years ago.
If you're really curious, I'll link to the Mermaids 2014 post x_x

I had the same base color, Zoya Sunshine. It's one of the pixie dusts - I loved them when I first discovered them! Now they sit untouched in the helmer...indies have the spotlight, lol. But Sunshine was topped with a sparkly flakie topper, I didn't have the exact one on hand so I reached for a Sally Hansen Triple Shine Hypnautical. It's one of my favorite drug store toppers, and the only reason I still have a full bottle is because this is my backup bottle! I made an awesome dragon egg and used up a whole bottle of this on it ahaha

For stamping I used the same plates! I was excited I still had PUEEN 26, but not surprised - I haven't ever got rid of plates! Got Messy Mansion 21, it's one of my favorite plates for scale design, but for this mani I just used the little mermaids. And then I was freaking out because my white stamping polish is all dry!!

Crossing my fingers, I reached for a PR item from BornPretty Store - a white gel stamping polish. It's really thick and super duper pigmented, so I figured a little will go a long way and I was right! The awesome perk of a gel stamping polish is that is is sooooo pigmented that even after you stamp your image on the nail, there is sometimes enough polish left on the stamper head to do a second stamp! So there are 6 stamped images on my nails but I only picked up 3 stamps - the leftover product was enough for me to double stamp. Then, because if I'm using gel, might as well go fancy, I sprinkled acrylic powder while it was still uncured, then cured it and brushed off the excess. It sort of worked...I got a little texture, but I'll need more trial and error. In my head I'm visualizing those cable kit sweater designs with the acrylic powder making them 3D!
