Bee's Knees Lacquer - The Thirteen; Part I

Bee's Knees Lacquer - The Thirteen

Hello! I'm pushing it with posting it so late when these polishes launch on 2/28, but there's still time t browse and make your selections! Bee's Knees Lacquer is going back to a Throne of Glass theme for inspiration, this time, it's based on The Thirteen.

*Polishes provided as press samples for release*

If you've done a quick count, you'll notice this is just 6 polishes, and not 13 - another 6 are scheduled for 3/27! . But to make it 13, Manon is on the site already, as it was previously released  and it will be staying available through part 2 release- I checked with Sarah!

As a swatcher, I don't like drawing attention to it but since there are multiple jelly/crelly based polishes in this set, I might as well get it out of the way - my index nail tends to grow wonky and break pretty much every time I get any length on it. As such, Imogen was the only polish I swatched before tragedy struck and I had to get out my polygel supplies and spackle the nail back on. For the remaining swatches, it's clearly missing the VNL and doesn't match my other nails, so just ignore it :)

Asterin  - inspired by one of the best characters in the series, Asterin is a royal blue polish with gold to green sibling UP shimmer. $14

Bee's Knees Lacquer - Asterin
3 coats + top coat for swatches; jelly base shows a little VNL but it isn't too obvious, the UP shimmers keep the attention on themselves and the base is dark enough

Sorrel - described as the stone to Manon's ice and Asterin's fire, this polish is a stone gray with bright red shimmer. $11
Bee's Knees Lacquer - Sorrel
3 coats + top coat; this is a gorgeous neutral shimmer that really warms up the base color, and it even shows a gold side in some lights

Thea -  a milk chocolate polish with glowing blue to purple shimmer, to reflect the colors of her and Kaya's eyes. $11
Bee's Knees Lacquer - Thea
3 coats + top coat; this was a a surprise favorite of the bunch, I really enjoyed the brown base! It reminded me of fancy tortoise shell nail art I've seen not long ago

Edda - one half of Manon's shadow scouts, Edda kept her hair white for daytime scouting so this is a milky white crelly with gold to green sibling ghost flakes. $14

Faline - one half of the green-eyed demon twins, this is a very pale spring green with glowing green to blue shimmer. $11
Bee's Knees Lacquer - Faline
3 coats + top coat; this was another surprise - the pale green base got to keep its color and not wash out thanks to the added green shimmer, this would be lovely come spring!

Imogen - a bright blue leaning teal with OG UP ghost flakes that flash red to green. $14.
Bee's Knees Lacquer - Imogen
3 coats + swatches; the jelly base in this one gives the most VNL but it's well suited for pond manis or layering - after swatching, I ended up wearing it over Shtriga for a work mani
