Tonic Polish - Fall 2020 Capsule
Hello & Welcome! I've got a quad of new polishes on the blog today - mark your calendar for 10/10/2020 - Tonic Polish is bringing you a fall capsule!
*Polishes provided as press samples for review*
I'll start off with a warning - while this little capsule may just be 4 colors, 2 of them do a stellar job as toppers, so naturally I had to show them off with multiple looks, so this is going to get lengthy post! And 4 colors isn't all that's coming - there is a trio of donation polishes, I'll have a separate post showing those swatches. See Black Lives Matter: Donation Trio
So lets get started with these - it wouldn't be fall without orange, right??
The Greatest Pumpkin -a red-toned orange linear holo made with translucent dyes to let some major holo rainbow action shine through! $12
Swatches show 2 coats + glossy top coat; beautiful color and perfect for the season! Holo is very apparent!
Fatigued - the perfect fall holo! This brown-leaning army fatigue green linear holo is made with translucent dyes to let some major holo rainbow action shine through! $12
My Little Rainbow - originally developed for a holiday release, Lindsey recently received an extra beautiful, extra shifty batch of her favorite super shiny, sparkly, iridescent warm peachy gold-green-teal-cerulean blue shifting shimmer used in so many past Tonic favorites. Can be worn as a super impactful topper or a stand-alone color in just 2 to 3 coats!! $13
Swatches show 3 coats + glossy top coat; just looking at this, you can already tell it's a magical transformer topper! But it can stand out by itself as well, so super versatile no matter what you want to do with it! To the naked eye this looked peachy/pink on my nails
Just keep moving your fingers and it will show you all of its faces!
The next two pictures show My Little Rainbow layered - 1 coat over black, 2 coats over white, and 3 coats solo. There's this really popular mani picture that circulates the internet and that's exactly what the combo with white undies reminds me of! It's like an opalescent effect..it's probably what unicorn skin looks like ;)
Crush - the sister iridescent flakey to the My Little Rainbow shimmer!! These flakes shift from warm peachy gold (with pops of red-orange)-green-teal- cerulean blue. Wear it as a topper over EVERYTHING, build up a few coats on its own, sandwich between layers of My Little Rainbow...the possibilities are endless and endlessly stunning. Lindsey's favorite combo is over the Optic white cream to reveal the aqua, pink, and purple base tones of the flakes! $12
For my swatches I did not start out with Crush by itself, I really wanted to see how it would look with a "nude" nail, so I put on 2 coats of French Undies and sponged Crush on the tips. I have to admit, it's super pretty and elegant looking! You can definitely get full coverage with this if you just wanted to layer a few coats.
Since it's fall, it felt fitting to get this sleeve shot added, gotta keep hands warm while admiring pretty nails! Plus, good dark contrasting background :)
I couldn't leave it alone and added a matte top coat to this combo - it ended up looking more peachy golden at the tips but really softened the overall effect and I have to admit, I kind of like it more than glossy! The color of French Undies seemed to blend in better with my nails once it was mattified.
How about over a white base? You got it!
1 coat of Crush over a white undie
What if you have I'm So Fancy base coats? I layered 1 coat of Crush over I'm So Pretty
But what iffffff you pair Crush with My Little Rainbow??
Iridescence over iridescence! This is 1 coat Crush over 3 coats My Little Rainbow
That's about all (for this post at least!). Oh! Black! Coming right up!
Index nail has 1 coat of My Little Rainbow over black, middle nail has 1 coat Crush over back, and ring finger has Crush sponged on for a more opaque look
These are releasing Saturday - October 10th! Tonic Polish
See Black Lives Matter: Donation Trio for the other polishes launching at the same time!
