Swatch & Art: Tonic Polish - Taffeta & Butterfly Leaf

Welcome! Today I have 2 Tonic Polish colors to show off - they aren't officially a duo, but I'm very sure were made to go together, so I've paired them up for this post!
*Polishes provided as press samples for review*
Once upon a time, a group member shared her manicure in the FB fangroup and that post periodically gets bumped up when someone comes across it, and everyone wishes for a specific polish to replicate the look. Unfortunately, not all polishes made are destined to be around forever, and the very special Leaf Pile Leap is one such color. It was released as an exclusive in a collaboration, and that exclusivity means it's not available anymore. So Lindsey, the maker of Tonic Polish, created a new polish to fill that void for her customers, and threw in a bonus partner color too!
Tonic Polish Taffeta
Taffeta - a blue/purple to red/violet/gold shifting multichrome with scattered holo

I was pleasantly surprised with how opaque this was! Application was great and I actually stopped with just 1 coat. I started the second coat on the index nail but stopped there as I was happy with the coverage I got.

This is a nice vampy color and the golden shift adds a little extra oomph to a traditionally vampy dark color. The sprinkling of holo is a nice bonus too

I had to add a little art to this color, I dabbed on a little bit of Butterfly Leaf before stamping with white from plate Uber Chic Beauty 1-02

I used a yellow jelly to add a pop of color to the daisy

And now for the second polish in this set..
Tonic Polish Butterfly Leaf
Butterfly Leaf - sheer black jelly base full of multi colored multichrome and iridescent flakes, metallic bronze micro glitters, and gold holo micro glitter

I used 2 coats in my swatches to get full coverage - the base jelly may be black, but given the multitude of flakes in there, it ends up looking more bronze/brown in the end

This one definitely reminds of colorful butterflies! Of course I had to do fitting nail art, so I borrowed inspiration from Kim's/Kimett Kolor grey butterfly mani she did for March's Digit-al Dozen look - see it here.

I used stamping plate BP-34 from BornPretty Store and a grey stamping polish from Mundo de UnasTonic Polish Butterfly Leaf

These two are still available in the shop but not for long! They'll hang around through April (giving you a chance to pick them up along with more goodies coming 4/8) and then it's to the vault for them! Vault colors make returns, but you'll have to wait a while to see these show up again.
