I seem to have developed an addiction to nail polish! I'm constantly talking about polish and browsing swatches and reviews. So I decided to get a blog for posting my own attempts at nail art and designs, and to give my hubby a break from having to listen to me blab all the time :) Of course, nail polish isn't ALL I'm interested in, so I think other topics and posts will creep up in here as well!

The Digit-al Dozen does Indie Love: Day 3
I'm really excited about this one even through the images may seem random! Maybe someone out there will figure it out after I say what the base polish it? Hmm..
My base color is from Bee's Knees Lacquer - called I See You Yi Yi - it isn't available anymore as it was from PPU (Polish Pickup Pack). This was my first ever PPU purchase and first ever from Bee's Knees (I know I just shared one on Monday, but I got this polish first!) I saw the name during reveal time and instantly went "I need dis!!" - I haven't seen polish based on the Fever series yet! It's a series of books by author Karen Marie Moning - anyone familiar? She wrote the Highlander series too, maybe that rings a bell..anyway, this color was based on the cover of the last book - High Voltage.
I See You Yi Yi - aquamarine ultra holo with green/red/orange iridescent flakes
The holo is strong with this one!! And the pigmentation is awesome - it only took two easy coats to be fully opaque, and even then - a single thicker coat would probably suffice on shorter nails
After this polish, I'm convinced that Bee's Knees Lacquer knows what they're talking about when something is called "ultra holo" - you guys know I'm always on the struggle bus with trying to show holo, but even I managed some, so it's really blinging irl! But now I'm regretting skipping a few colors earlier that I wasn't sure about - like Hela Holo - the name alone cracked me up as I had just seen Thor: Ragnarok earlier that week before the polish was released, and I definitely had some daydreams of a badass mani with it. I'll have to keep a closer eye on this brand in the future and pull the trigger more often!
And for my nails - I kept it to simple stamping, text and dragon from Fairyale 02 by UberChic Beauty, and kitty face from plate 12 by Creative Shop Stamping.
The polish is inspired by a character in the book, Dani, and her hellcat Shazam. "I see you Yi Yi" is something they say to each other. The dragon is uh..a spoiler, lol.
I'm stupid happy with this polish. Not only is it for a series I love love love, but it also came with an unexpected "gift". I made the mistake of thinking the series wrapped up with the previous book, so the newest volume was nowhere on my radar! Imagine the surprise and happiness a fan feels when they get a continuation of a favorite story!! It's quite the opposite feeling of finding out that a series you really really like was supposed to have had 10 books but ended up with just 3 because the author died (looking at you, Girl With The Dragon Tattoo!!)
Anyways, I went off on a tangent there haha - as per usual, check out the others from the link up and come back tomorrow!
