I seem to have developed an addiction to nail polish! I'm constantly talking about polish and browsing swatches and reviews. So I decided to get a blog for posting my own attempts at nail art and designs, and to give my hubby a break from having to listen to me blab all the time :) Of course, nail polish isn't ALL I'm interested in, so I think other topics and posts will creep up in here as well!

The Digit-al Dozen Presents - White: Day 5
Today is the final day for The Digit-al Dozen "White" theme and I went all out! I've got white fluffy clouds and pretty white cranes, and I even dabbled a bit with freehand and acrylic paint! This took quite a bit of steps, so let's start from the bottom!
*Polishes provided as press samples for review*
I didn't take a picture, but I put on a white base, my trusty Sally Hansen Insta-Dri, and applied 3 colors in an ombre/gradient look using the dry brush technique. Basically, white most of the polish off the brush and swipe, it's kind of artsy imo
I got a swatch package from Nvr Enuff Polish and knew I had to incorporate these 3 colors into some nailart - pale blue is Icy Eyes (Franklin's Franken #1), lavender is Sunset Over Seattle (this is an exclusive for The Indie Shop in Seattle 7/22!) and The Golden Hour (Franklin's Franken #2)
Then I stamped "clouds" using BornPretty Store white stamping polish and Creative Shop Stamping plate 35. The reason I say "clouds" is because it's more of a splatter/graffiti image, but I was really inspired by @ladyandthe_stamp on IG with her recent totally amazing sky designs (like this), so I set out to replicate the look. I think adding the matte top coat really turned this into a sky look rather than splatters.
Because Sunset over Seattle is a TIS exclusive, I really wanted some Seattle-looking nail art. What an ordeal this was! First, because I'm lazy, I printed some decals on waterslide paper like I've done so many times before - but alas, I have a new printer and haven't tested every setting to get good results so they were bad decals. I thought I'd fix it my outlining in sharpie and then sealing with topcoat - oops, everything bled and it was just a non-distinguishable blob. So..time to face my fear and try acrylic paint!
Voila! This is totally city skyline, complete with the space needle! It turned out kind of dark and gloomy, but I figured if Seattle gets the same weather as Portland, then it can be grey and gloomy too!
And the birds..I had them on a stamper as decals for a few days now, they're from plate 22 by Creative Shop Stamping.
The fit was a little tight, but they're mostly all there - and they're white! So I get double points for today's post ahaha
This concludes The Digit-al Dozen week for July, I hope you've enjoyed our posts - linkups are at the bottom in case anyone wants to browse :)
