Bee's Knees Lacquer Rainbow & Unicorn Pee Customs
Welcome to another blog post showing brand new polishes from Bee's Knees Lacquer! This duo is a group custom, and to purchase, you've got to be a member of the Facebook group Rainbows & Unicorn Pee.
*Polishes provided as press samples for review*
This duo will be launching on Black Friday, that's 11/23 and will be available until 11:59PM EDT on 11/30. So just a week to pick them up, and they will not be made available afterwards so plan for them if you've got a wishlist going ;)
Due to the nature of these polishes - unicorn pee AND tri-thermal!? - I've got a lot of pictures for this post. Please use the arrows to navigate through them, and I really really hope they're helpful to try and show off what's all packed into these bottles!
Come Home Nell - a pale green to purple to dark blue tricolor thermal filled with original unicorn pee shimmer and flakes that also have a red to green shift; price is $18
If you're ever unsure on which color in a thermal polish is the warm of the cold one - my tip is to look at the bottle, that's generally the cold color. It's a nice dusky blue, but when I was applying the polish - took just 2 coats to be opaque - I noticed it was a lot lighter..and then realized I'm holding a thermal polish! A 2 color thermal polish changes between hot and cold, but what about a tri-thermal? My best hypothesis is that the middle color is like a lukewarm state. When I applied the polish for the first time, I got that berry shade with blue tips, and when I woke up the next morning and crawled out of my warm cocoon of a bed - I noticed my polish was like a pale apple green! I was really confused, but upon checking my swatch detail email, all was made clear - it's the tricolor effect of the thermal polish. The shimmer and flakes are visible no matter which shade is showing, and while I had to do some manipulation for the pictures, irl the colors transition on their own really well, even on shorter nails.
The Bent-neck Lady - a nude to grey to green tricolor thermal filled with gold to green sibling unicorn pee and flakes that shift red to green; price - $15
This one also took 2 coats for opaque coverage - and it was mostly in the warm grey state for me, with the tips darkening. I think it was harder for me to catch the transitions with this because of the colors just blending into one another so smoothly. It's not an abrupt line, but more of a gradual color change as if it was a gradient. In the really warm state the polish pretty much disappears and leaves a lot of gold flakes behind! It's a peek-a-boo color, and this one also surprised me when I woke up with nude nails - I do have "cover pink" acrygel on atm, but even when I tried this color on Cindy, it's still tinted nude, and not clear, so you'll have a hint of polish.
