The polish I brought out of my stash was released last year by Fair Maiden Polish as part of a "Stranger Things" quartet. And as the internet is abuzz with season 2 release, I felt it was high time I did some art for it!
The Upside Down - a beautiful multichrome polish that shifts from blue to pink to purple to gold, with a strong holo effect and multichrome flakes
The name tag and the label are intentionally put upside down to match the name! I think you really would have to watch the show in order to get the reference, but fans of Stranger Things are numerous so I hope this rings a bell :D
I'm not kidding about the holo, see! I think I may try taking cell phone pics during the day as I roam around, because I have no luck with lightbox, ever x_x
In the usual multichrome fashion, the polish is a bit thin to allow the pigments to shift, so a couple of coats is needed, 2-3 should suffice, but I used 3 to make sure I had no VNL showing through and get the most bang out of this color
2 coats on shorter nails should be good, as well as 1 coat over dark undies! Although, I realize I'm taking about a polish that is no longer available, I kind of have my fingers crossed that FM puts out another collection for the new season! And, well..that's just a general tip for any multichrome application too!
For the nail art...I went back to my trusty DIY water slide decal making and got a couple of images put together, after a lot of scrolling through Google for ideas. See my original post on this crafty method here.
I also used a stamping plate for a couple images - UberChic Beauty Zombie Love 2, for the tree and blood splatters (ring and pinkie nails). And if you happen to own their Holiday Spirit plate, then there's a lovely string of Christmas lights available :)
As you can see from my decal, it's not fully solid..my printer isn't very cooperative lately, so I touched up with black acrylic paint before applying to my nails.
Have you already watched season 2? I'm a little undecided...scary stuff is scary, and hubby doesn't want to so I'm not sure I'll make it by myself..I'm a wimp! Anyway, hope you enjoyed the post :)
