Anchor & Heart was a guest maker for the month of October in the Multichrome Madness group on Facebook, and this is one of the colors made - you've got to be a group member in order to purchase this, but A&H has some stunning things in their shop outside of the customs! Check out the Etsy shop! And if you happen to belong to the group, the cutoff to order is 10/31/17 midnight EST
Andamooka - a straight multichrome (as in, no flakes or holo added), it's an ultramarine blue base that shifts green/yellow/gold
A couple things I'll note - the shop's listing has a comment about smell - as some pigment used in multichromes have a stronger that usual scent, it's just disclosed so no one thinks they've got a bad bottle, or if someone is super sensitive - to maybe pass on it. Personally, I didn't notice anything out of the norm, but then...I'm polishing all the time so I'm not sure how much my nose can be trusted!
And second - the opacity on this was great! I used 2 coats for it to be fully opaque, so this polish is packed full to give such great color payoff, and I love that. However, I noticed brushstrokes, and normally I don't care because it's part of the nature of a multichrome, but I really wanted to try something to ease that...like...sponging the polish on! I've read about it -"sponge the last coat on to avoid brush strokes" and got out my makeup sponge, soaked it in water and applied a coat. So in the end, I technically have 3 coats, but I still stand firm that 2 would have been fine. And this is definitely more of a tip to try rather than a fault in the polish I wanted to correct!
I'm thrilled with this polish. It may be just a multichrome with no frills, but the color shift is so awesome! I definitely wanted to show all my friends and tell the to buy it, but then I remembered the no buys they're trying to stick to..
And the nail art! I felt like a green like this would work for some zombie designs!
I used plate Zombie Love 2 from UberChic Beauty for all of these, it's a pretty neat plate even though I'm generally not into zombies. The fun part is the layering - pinkie and ring finger are made that way and are made up of 3 parts. Of course, one can just color in an image and reverse stamp it, but I think the novelty of the layering images is that they can be done so quick. Now, aligning them perfectly is a whole other issue lol, but I still enjoy this new-ish advancement in stamping plates :)
I used 3 MdU polishes to stamp with - black, white, and spring green.
And just like that, October has come to a close! Hope you enjoyed the post and will return in the future :)
