Tonic Polish - Late Summer 2020 Collection
Hello & Welcome!! Today's post will have swatches of upcoming Tonic Polish releases - mark your calendars for Sept 4th, 2PM Central!
*Polishes provided as press sample for review*
The first 4 polishes will be added to Tonic's "Always in Stock" collections - base coat, neon and multichrome.
Manic Panic - more of a “bright” than a neon, Manic Panic is a solid bright purple cream addition to Tonic's Neon Brights family of colors; $9
Swatches show 2 coats + top coat - beautiful cream with great opacity and it is definitely a bright one!
Hot Guava - a neon coral addition to the Neon Brights family of colors. Pretty close to Tonic's False Alarm neon, just a slightly more pink option; $9
Swatches show 2 coats + top coat - this is another really bright cream! It looks a touch darker on my nails than in does in the bottle, but photographing neons accurately is always a challenge
Angel Parade - a super pigmented gold-silver multichrome addition to Tonic's Multichrome Parade family of colors; $14
Swatches show 2 coats + top coat. The opacity on this one is awesome, could even be sufficient with 1 coat but I went for 2 to make sure I got even coverage and to get more oomph from the color
I’m So Fresh - a new glowing mint green shimmer addition to Tonic's “I'm So Fancy” base coat line up. Made with the same base formula as Tonic's classic French Undies base coat, it strengthens, smooths, and protects your natural nails and also helps with polish wear time! Tonic's “I'm So Fancy” base coats are designed to provide additional coverage and brightness under sheer nail polish colors or can be worn all on their own for a super quick and easy manicure. One coat gives a sheer, delicate color, or build up a few coats for more impact! They can even be used as a fun topper over another color; $8
Swatches show 2 coats + top coat; I've picked up the new base coat line from Tonic recently but it hasn't made it to the blog yet - they're great to layer under something sheer to help build up opacity, and knowing how strong my VNL is, that's definitely the way I use it!
Facet-nated - super shifty red-gold-green multichrome (and multi-sized!) flakes paired with iridescent blue flakes. Looks lovely on its own in 2 coats, add a 3rd for a more opaque look, or try over one of Tonic's “I’m So Fancy” base coats! Also makes a fantastic topper! Try it over a few coats of Tonic's new “Starlit Dawn” iridescent flakie shimmer or a darker solid like Pepper Undies or Detox! And don’t forget to pop some Matte Velvet Topper over it for a rich velvety look; $13
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; I used the polish solo to see how opaque it got, and was happy with the results! It's definitely a great fall color and if you have an undie in mind, give it a try!
Starlit Dawn - a tiny bit of scattered holo mixed with a ton of peach-red iridescent shimmer and flakes that shift to yellow and green make for a resonant, fiery, ethereal polish with a million wear possibilities! Looks lovely on its own in 2 coats, add a 3rd for a more opaque look, or try over one of Tonic's “I’m So Fancy” base coats! Also makes a fantastic topper! Lindsey loves to wear it over the new Manic Panic “Neon Bright” color, and looks amazing when combined with Tonic's new “Facet-nated” flakie multichrome; $13
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat. You can definitely see VNL on my nails but somehow, I was okay with it because the polish is so pretty and ethereal! Of course, adding a solid base will get you a million variations and really great mileage if you only use it as a topper!
I paired it with some of the colors from this release just to give an idea of what looks you can get from it...I agree with Lindsey, it's amazing over Manic Panic and dresses up a simple cream effortlessly!
2 coats Manic Panic + 1 coat Starlit Dawn
2 coats I'm So Fresh + 1 coat Starlit Dawn
These are releasing Friday - Sept 4th, 2 pm Central! Tonic Polish
