Bee's Knees Lacquer - Empire of the Vampire
Hello, hello! It's time to show off what's been cooking over at
Bee's Knees Lacquer in time for the November/Black Friday launch! Last year's Nov collection was inspired by the Nevernight series, by Jay Kristoff, and this year it's Empire of the Vampire!
*Polishes provided as press samples for review*
Gotta take care of a few housekeeping items before getting to the swatches, there's important info! Due to supply chain delays, more bottles won't get to BKL until January, which means this launch will have caps. There won't be the option to purchase the full collection, but the 3 LE polishes will be available all at once, so plan your cart early! Typically, Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, and Cyber Monday each have a limited edition polish only available on that date, and I have swatches of those I'll be sharing in their own post. There will be mystery polishes! And freebies! (limited to 1 per person, capped at 200) AND a 25% off sale! (Excluding UP) AND there will be a custom polish for the Orange polish group!
And now for the swatches! This is a 9 piece collection with quite a variety of colors and finishes, lets' get into it!
Silversaint - a silvery lilac magnetic with gold to green ghost flakes; $15 capped at 200
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; this is magnetic!! I only magnetized the third coat and then once again while top coat was drying. If you're not a fan of magnetics, no worries, this looks really pretty unmagnetized as well - it's silvery lilac all over
Coldblood - a black based polish with aqua to blue shimmer; $11 capped at 300
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; Sarah's shimmers are really pretty and intensely glowy, you can see the blue around the edges on this one
Wretched - a deep raspberry pastel multichrome that shifts to purple and blue with black to red multichrome microflakes; $13 capped at 300
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; my VNL shows, but the color and the glow is so intense and vibrant that it mostly overshadows the free edge. Some matching undies can also be added if you prefer a more solid type of coverage
I added a coat of Pinky for the undie (it's a BKL creamy polish to help with some of the more sheer types of polishes, pink toned)
The Forever King - a rusty burgundy with green to blue sibling UP; $15 and capped at 400
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; this one looks more red in the the bottle but on the nail it's a pretty mahogany color
Duskdancer - an aqua to purple pastel multichrome with holo flakes and a scattering of black to red multichrome microflakes; $13 capped at 300
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; OMG!! I love this one so so much! Not only is it an amazing color shift, but the sparkles! And the microflakes! At times it was hard to capture a photo because all my camera saw was chrome bling!
Faekin - a green pastel multichrome that shifts red to olive with black to red multichrome microflakes; $13 capped at 200
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; wow, this polish is pretty complicated! Good luck trying to nail down a base color here!
Empress of Wolves and Men - a silver to pink to green pastel multichrome with ebony flakes. May dry with some texture like Fruits of the Land; $13 capped at 200
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; it's another chrome one packed with flakes! It reads silver green to me but you can catch the pink in there as well
Liathe - a deep aubergine purple with red to green UP and ghost flakes; $15 and capped at 400
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; UP + flakies = LOVE! I'm always a fan of this combo, and the color is perfect! It reads as a deep red on me,
I even snapped a bottle pic of this one, isn't it amazing??
I'm a f*ing Queen - a yellow to blue pastel multichrome with sapphire flakes. May dry with some texture like Fruits of the Land; $13 capped at 300
Swatches show 3 coats + top coat; I was a big fan of this polish finish when it first came out a few collections back, and that's still true with this one! For a completely different look, layer this over black - the yellow and blue actually make green, shiny like a beetle!
