Polish Pickup Pack - November 2019

Polish Pickup Pack - November 2019

Here we go with another month of PPU! Can you believe it's going to be November in just a few days?! Eeek, time flies!! Let's take a peek at a couple of the offerings in PPU's Fairy Tales theme!

*Polishes provided as press samples for review*

Bee's Knees Lacquer
Name: When Water Sang Fire
Price: $12
Cap: none
Description: A greyed out mint polish with glowing red to green shimmer and holo flakes
Inspiration: Inspired by the tale When Water Sang Fire by Leigh Bardugo, this polish reflects Ulla's unusual skin tone, her ambition to do the impossible, and her determination

Bee's Knees Lacquer - When Water Sang Fire
I applied 2 coats + top coat for swatches - I'd say it reads grey when you look at it but it's also got a chameleon side and the green shimmer really made me question the color, when I got Sarah's description of "greyed out mint" it made sense!

JReine
Name: Meant To Be
Price: $13
Cap: none
Description: a smokey lilac base with OGUP, a red to green shimmer and tons of flakies that shift red/purple/gold/orange
Inspiration: The Nightmare Before Christmas

JReine - Meant To Be
3 thin coats + top coat for swatches - the polish is so shifty and complex! Between the unicorn pee color shifts and flakies, it's showing you a new face at every turn!

JReine is also participating with an IPU product - yup, more stunning powder!

Pixie Magic Kit - $15, no cap
Kit includes - .30 grams of pixie powder Destiny & applicator, 5ml bottle of Super Base, and 5ml bottle of Royalty. Destiny  shifts green/teal/violet/fuchsia

So this was my first time trying JReine's Royalty and wow was I blown away by how rich and pigmented it is, and it only took 1 coat to give me opaque coverage! I need to get myself more of this and never run out- this color is always a great choice for layering anything with UP and any other pixie powder
JReine - Pixie Magic Destiny
JReine has had these kits for several months now, but if you haven't picked up any yet - the Super Base makes powder usable with regular polish, no gel or UV lamps needed! I applied 1 coat of Royalty, and topped with Super Base + burnishing powder once the base color was dry. Leaves were done using a pigment stamping technique, just to show the color contrast. Look at the color shifts!!

I also got out my bottle of CG Too Yacht To Handle to try under Destiny, and while it did add luster and color shift, it was a lot more subtle than what you'd see with a dark base. The fun part about the pigments is how easy they are to use and there's no limits to your choice of base colors! Well almost none, your polish collection if your only limiting factor ;)
